![]() ![]() Cubase Midi Channel 2 becomes Midi Channel 3 going into VEP in order to trigger Halion Midi Instrument 2, if that instrument is returing to Cubase on VEP Audio Output 3/4 I had to adjust to the fact that if I want different Audio Out tracks from VEP/Halion coming back into Cubase, that I always have to adjust the MIDI track numbering going from Cubase into the VEP/Halion instance track slots so that they match the actual Audio Out track routing from VEP going back into Cubase.Ĭare must be taken in getting all the Halion MIDI settings just right and setting the Audio Outs to match. I setup VEP as a 'Rack' instance, turned on some Audio Out channels in that instance that will come back to Cubase, and then loaded in the instruments in their Halion slots. Googling that error message got me a link on the Steinberg forum that suggested it might be a problem Steinberg has to fix with the change over in how activation works.Alright, I figured this out at long last! (.a little different from Kontakt) ![]() I don't know if this is a problem with the switch over to the activation system with Cubase 12, and has something messed up in the transfer from dongle to no-dongle? Although at the moment I have my dongle, which I used with Artist 11.5, still inserted in my computer, so it feels like that shouldn't be an issue. This doesn't make sense to me since much of the rest of HALion is running, as is Cubase Artist 12 (apart from this issue), so it sure seems like I must have the license. In particular, check the download, running the library manager, and forcing HALion to rescan all the files didn't fix the issue - the same things are showing up with no license.Īnd today - at least for the first time I noticed, when I tried to select on them, I got a pop up message from Steinberg Activation Manager telling me "No license for HALion Sonic SE Common Presents Content has been found in your account, so you software cannot run." Image here: So unfortunately no dice on reinstalling the content through the Download Manager, or trying to advice at the helpful link you provided above. As explained in this Steinberg forum post here: : I had been dumb and somehow installed HALion Sonic SE Pro content, which is what all the unlicensed stuff was, and once I removed the Pro stuff in Library Manager, all of that went away. Is there any way in Cubase or in Library manager to figure out specifically where one specific file should be located?Īny assistance about figuring out what this means and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.ĮDIT- SOLVED. But I'm not exactly which files, or how I would go into - what, Library Manager? - to fix this? I don't see this for any of the other virtual instruments that come with Artist 12 - nothing seems missing Padshop or Groove Agent, for instance. I don't know exactly what this means, but I was unable to load them as instruments in Halion so I figure the gist is this means a file is missing. ![]() As in the image which I hopefully posted correctly here. I have Cubase Artist 12 installed on my PC, and it's been working fine since I installed - no issues so far as I can tell with using it with our within the dongle, and it's been letting me use all my VSTs and records as I was before I upgraded to 12.īut today for the first time I noticed something odd in Halion Sonic SE3 where some of the instrument options available to me - just a handful, apparently randomly distributed through the list, had a red circle with a horizontal white line in them. ![]()
